Tribeca Film Festival Goes Virtual and Global

May

The Tribeca Film Festival is one of the great annual movie events. And, although 2020's festival has been postponed, residents of the luxury condos at The Woolworth Tower Residences can still bring the spirit of the festival into their condo, enjoying short films via its website. For 10 days this spring, there's also the opportunity to experience a global celebration of film.

Bringing the Film Festival to You
The Tribeca Film festival website has scores of shorts to binge on, courtesy of its A Short Film a Day Keep Anxiety Away section. The Ben Rock-directed Future Boyfriend features a time-traveling date night; Don’t Mess with Julie Whitfield sees two ruthless elementary school moms battle over a school fundraiser; and wacky stop-motion animation Second to None follows a jealous twin who schemes his brother in order to become the oldest person in the world. Watch one of these every day, and you'll soon be a short film buff.

We Are One
The Tribeca Film Festival has also joined the We Are One festival for a 10-day YouTube bonanza from May 29 to June 7. Many other prestigious film festivals from across the globe are participating, including Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, and Sundance. Even better, We Are One is raising funds to support the World Health Organization (WHO) and local organizations providing relief to those affected by COVID-19. Residents of The Woolworth Tower Residences can watch movies from the comfort of their Downtown Manhattan home and do good at the same time.
